Assignments and responsibilities: Founder of Salzburg-Estonian Society in 2002 and its president since then; Former public relations assistant in a Salzburg based international company (over a period of 20 years).
Professional Experience: Close contacts to the heads of the Salzburg government, to the regional parliament as well as to Mayor and officials of the city and province of Salzburg have been very useful for promoting cooperation with Estonia, especially in the area of culture. Long term engagement with Salzburg-Estonia Society and Estonian Consulate General in Salzburg has given an excellent experience in organising and supporting Estonia related cultural events in Salzburg.
Potential sectors for developing relations with Estonia: Salzburg with its famous numerous festivals like Salzburg Festival, Mozart Week, Salzburg Easter Festival, Salzburg Whitsun Festival and many other cultural events is an excellent place for promoting cultural cooperation and tourism. Many famous Estonian artists such as the composer Arvo Pärt, the conductor Paavo Järvi and Tõnu Kaljuste have participated at these events and are most welcome to come again. Exhibitions of Mare Vint, Andres Tolts, Tiiu Kirsipuu, Leo Lapin, Virge Jõekalda, Sirje Eelmaa, Rait Prääts and many others have made Estonian art in Salzburg very well known.
Vision and proposals: Estonia will continue to play an active role in the field of culture in Salzburg, Mozart's birthplace. Promotion of Estonian music, art, dance, customs, food, and the “Estonian way of life” in Salzburg must go on.
Personal information: Close ties to Estonia because of being born in Estonia and visiting the home-country at least 6 to 7 times per year. Interested especially in art and cultural cooperation and – above all – loving my country.
Awards: Decorated with Fourth Class Order of the White Star of Estonia.
